Part of Hybrid AI for Turkey's 2050 Energy Transition — Seyit Önderol, supervised by Prof. Dr. Faik Bilgili

# DISCUSSION AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS This chapter analyzes the theoretical, methodological, and practical implications of our findings (Chapter 4). As delineated in Section 3, the methodological framework governs the interpretation of empirical results. Section 5.1 discusses scientific contributions. The section argues for the advantages of physics-informed AI over purely data-driven approaches. It also examines the effectiveness of reinforcement learning for long-term multi-objective optimization. Finally, it explains the benefits of bidirectional integration. Section 5.2 provides policy recommendations derived from optimal pathways. It discusses phased deployment strategies, technology priorities, financing mechanisms, institutional reforms, and political feasibility analysis. Section 5.3 recognizes research limitations including data constraints, modeling assumptions, generalization boundaries, and computational requirements. Recommendations for future research include short-term economic optimization of electricity generation and transmission, cross-sectoral integration (transport, heating), international transmission networks, and socio-political viability analyses. The chapter ends with a summary detailing the main contributions and the broader implications for energy transitions in other developing countries.
