# LITERATURE REVIEW This chapter reviews the theoretical background and empirical literature of this dissertation on the hybrid artificial intelligence system for energy transition planning in detail. The review has been put into six thematic sections covering energy transition theories, forecasting methods, reinforcement learning algorithms, optimization of energy systems, Turkey-focused energy studies, and research gaps. This means that the dissertation's contribution is compared in a systematic and explication way to existing academic work, and the theories supporting the methods we described in Chapter 3 will be explained. The review synthesizes approximately 300 sources spanning multiple disciplines: energy systems engineering, machine learning and artificial intelligence, operations research and optimization, environmental economics, technology diffusion theory, and policy studies. Different disciplines come together to form energy transition. Technically feasible solutions, economic optimization, implementation behavior and adoptive policy, and technical constraints reflect evidently in whatever is synthesised.
